Sprout, NBCUniversal’s 24-hour preschool network, announced today that Alyssa Milano will join the network as its first-ever Mom-Bassador. As Sprout’s Mom-Bassador, Milano—a mother of two young children—will be the voice and personality of the network’s brand refresh, which goes live on September 26th in celebration of Sprout’s 10th birthday. Milano narrates a series of segments that capture the energy and wonder of young children with vibrant photography, a rich color palette, and a contemporary, fresh feel that encompasses Sprout’s brand and programming content.
“We know families will relate to her as she shares her first-hand experiences as a parent with us, connecting with our viewers on a very real level.”
Milano will also serve as the face of Kindness Counts, the network’s signature pro-social campaign, which encourages and celebrates everyday acts of kindness. Sprout believes that kindness comes in all shapes and sizes and looks to highlight kids who are sparking kindness every day in their homes, school, communities and beyond. Milano will spearhead the nationwide search for the child who best embodies everyday acts of kindness to be named Sprout’s Chief Kindness Officer for 2016.
“Alyssa Milano is a true Sprout mom – she embodies the playfulness and energy that are the essence of the Sprout brand,” said Sandy Wax, President, Sprout. “We know families will relate to her as she shares her first-hand experiences as a parent with us, connecting with our viewers on a very real level.”
“As a mom, every day is about finding the extraordinary in the ordinary with my kids,” said Alyssa Milano. “My family is a Sprout family, and to be able to work with the network as they transform the brand into something that reflects the contemporary feel and diversity of children today has been one of the most incredible experiences for me. I am excited to share ideas with families and showcase how Sprout is an integral part of my everyday life, too!”
Having starred as a child on the popular series, “Who’s the Boss,” Milano has spent much of her life in the public eye, continuing to work throughout her adulthood in both television and film. She is currently the host and a judge on the hit show “Project Runway: All Stars” and was most recently seen on ABC’s “Mistresses.” She has a history of starring in long-running television series, including Fox’s “Melrose Place” and WB’s “Charmed.” Milano also has a very successful clothing line, TOUCH by Alyssa Milano, and is the creator of the critically acclaimed graphic novel, Hacktivist. Milano is also a dedicated philanthropist; in 2003, UNICEF invited her to become a National Ambassador in recognition of her charitable work on behalf of children.
