Today, September 5th, 2014 marks the beginning of the Art and Apples Festival in Rochester. The Spotlights Market also opens this weekend – located at 4th street and Walnut in downtown Rochester. The Art and Apples Festival is held in the beautiful Rochester Municipal Park, which by the way has undergone some improvements in the last year. Check out the new Performance Pavilion.
The hours for the festival are:
Friday – September 5th 4:00 pm until 7:00 p.m.
Saturday – September 6th 9:00 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.
Sunday – September 7th 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
This year there will be over 290 artists, many of which will be new to the show. There will also be plenty of arts and crafts for the kids and a rock climbing wall. The Kids Art Zone will be sponsored by Meijer this year. Delicious apple pies can also be purchased, along with other delicious food! For more information please visit the official Art and Apples website .
The Spotlight Market will be going on at the same time in downtown Rochester. This is a juried fine arts and gift show featuring 125 exhibitors. The hours are pretty much the same except the start times for Saturday and Sunday are 10:00 a.m.
I took a walk through the park this morning and many tents/booths were already set up, with more in the process of being set-up. The weather might be a little unfavorable tonight, but Saturday and Sunday look great.
I have my eye on an apple pie this year!
