Winter Blast Royal Oak to Offer a Cool Rush of Winter Activities and Free Family Fun in 2024

Three-day Festival Returns to Downtown Royal Oak Feb. 2-4

Organizers of Winter Blast Royal Oak presented by the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort announced today that the festival will return in 2024, and take place Friday, Feb. 2 through Sunday, Feb. 4, in downtown Royal Oak. This Southeast Michigan winter tradition will feature a number of signature and returning outdoor seasonal activities with free admission.

“Winter Blast Royal Oak is a cool rush of seasonal fun for the whole family, right in beautiful downtown Royal Oak, a destination for year-round activities, diverse dining and retail shops and entertaining events like this,” said Jon Witz, Winter Blast producer. “We invite metro Detroiters to mark their calendars now and then get out and take in all that Winter Blast has to offer.”

Attendees of the 2024 Winter Blast Royal Oak can expect a winter wonderland of outdoor activities, live local music and all the family fun they look forward to experiencing year after year. Winter Blast festivities in 2024 will surround The Rink at Royal Oak at Centennial Commons located between Main and Troy streets and 11 Mile Road and 3rd Street. The Rink at Royal Oak presented by M3 Investment Services will once again be a main attraction at the 2024 Winter Blast Royal Oak, offering free ice skating on all three days of the festival courtesy of Oakland County. Visitors can bring their own skates or rent a pair for $6 to enjoy this favorite winter pastime.

Mt. Brighton Ski Resort returns as a sponsor to deliver a learn to ski and snowboard experience right in downtown Royal Oak. Eventgoers have a chance to be fitted for ski or snowboard gear and then go down a beginner-level snow hill with the help of Mt. Brighton Ski and Ride School instructors.

A zip line, ice sculptures, ice carving demonstrations, food trucks and a family zone with kids’ stage are also some of the many winter-themed and fun activities to do. Additionally, a live, local music showcase will offer the hottest up-and-coming and longtime favorite musical acts and DJs from metro Detroit. Attendees also can count on Winter Blast to feature heated tents/warming zones and roasting stations located throughout the festival area for respite and other entertainment and hands-on activities.

Admission to Winter Blast Royal Oak is free and open to the public from 4 p.m.-11 p.m. Friday, Feb, 2; 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3; and 11 a.m.- 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024.

Winter Blast Royal Oak is grateful for the generous support from returning presenting sponsor Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort, as well as the City of Royal Oak, Cornerstone Community Financial, DTE Energy, Faygo, Henry Ford Health, House of Dank, M3 Investment Services, Maker’s Mark, Mt. Brighton Ski Resort, Royal Oak DDA and US Park.
