My Favorite Summer Statement Pieces
I believe everyone has a few favorite signature looks for every season. Summer, in a certain way, is probably the easiest season for getting dressed and ready to go! No need to layer (unless you have to be entertained indoors with the air conditioning). In the summer, fewer accessories could be the right answer too when the temperature gets hot.
Here are a few looks that for me, are truly essential for summer:
Slip Dress
You really don’t need to go crazy with accessories when wearing a slip dress! Why? Because it is the main character of your look.
Scarf
I like scarves for my hair. To make my plain white bag look more interesting, and when the temperature drops at night.
To dress up a pair of jean shorts, use a colorful scarf as a belt. A pretty scarf can also define your waistline when wearing a simple slip dress. And, if you are courageous enough, you can improvise a cool top with a scarf too!
Shorts
A pair of cool shorts are very essential. For a day on the boat, a walk on the beach, or brunch with the family. Totally casual. You can also dress them up with a shirt or camisole and a boyfriend blazer.
Colorful Dress
A dress in a summer fun color is so easy to wear! You don’t even have to wear accessories to look stunning. Pick a color that’s flattering on you and your skin tone. Be sure to take your beautiful tan into consideration.
Duster (or Kimono)
I love to travel with my duster for many reasons. A duster can be worn as a bathing suit cover-up, or it can be worn in a fancy restaurant over a pair of shorts. Also, a duster is a great option at night in case the temperature drops.
Bathing Suit
On vacation, I always look for any source of water. The sea is my best bet, but in any case, I appreciate a beautiful pool too. Pick a bathing suit that is flattering on you. The one-piece bathing suit could be worn as a bodysuit and worn as a top. So be wise when you make your purchase and have fun with it!
