Marquise Diamond Shape

Marquise Diamond Shape

Are you a Marquise diamond shape? In case you don’t know what I’m talking about…I decided to classify our beautiful bodies like the diamond cut! Because we are as precious as diamonds!

So if you are the fortunate owner of a Marquise diamond shape that means you have a tendency to carry your weight around your belly. Of course that comes with carrying pregnancies but also with age.

A good way to look leaner if you have this body shape is to wear a darker dress and add a light blazer over. Dark colors fade into the background Also sheath dresses are great options; the silhouette is straight up and down, so it balances out your curves, also it will move as you do, avoiding drawing attention to your belly.

Wrap dresses are always flattering because they create a waistline definition.

Hemlines are best above at the knee.

As far as tops, an A-line top is a great option. Stay away from baggy shirts. Tunics are a great solution if you wear slim pants underneath that altogether create a slimming look. Stick to drapey fabrics that move, like crepe or silk. Stay away from thicker fabrics.

Shapeless tops are not the answer. I often see beautiful women wearing big tops trying to cover up their belly. The problem here is that you are adding more fabric and volume to an area that’s already voluptuous, and also you are covering up other areas that are most likely small!

Say NO to a drawstring waist, or paper bag pants! Tailored pants are slimming and they control your shape. Look for pants with a flat front and a zipper on the side. Also look for a slightly lower waist.

Also, invest in a good bra! You want a bra that lifts you up (and your breasts of course!) so it will create more of a proportion between your bust and waist. A beautiful shaped neckline will help to bring attention to your face and décolleté. Say NO to frills and ruffles.

Shaped and ruching tops are the best option. V necks will elongate your neckline and bring the eye to your upper body.

Angles or lines that move in a diagonal direction are slimming a longer blazer would elongate your figure.

Always think about the part of your body you want to emphasize and draw your attention there!

And don’t ever forget…confidence is the best accessory EVER!
