Let’s Go to the Market!
Don’t you just love this time of year? The trees and flowers are blooming, the days are slowly getting warmer and the neighbors are coming out of their houses to say hello. Here in Michigan, we sure do have long Winters but Spring is so rewarding! Another Spring favorite of ours is when the farmer’s markets start to open up and we can purchase fresh flowers and produce from our local land! There’s just something about preparing a meal for your family that’s locally grown.
Which market do we like to visit? The Birmingham Farmers Market is one of our local favorites. The Birmingham Farmers Market is dedicated to creating a weekly experience (every Sunday) for residents to shop for farm fresh agricultural products and gather with others in the community, while enjoying live entertainment and kid-friendly activities.
The market offers more than 50 booths featuring:
– locally and regionally grown produce
– garden plants and flowers
– fresh prepared foods
– hand crafted items
– and much much more!
It’s easy to have fun and to leave with an arm full of wholesome and healthy goods locally grown, produced or even hand-made. Guests can enjoy live music performances from local artists while they shop, and this year’s “Kids Zone” promises a fun arts & crafts experience for your little ones too!
Public Parking is available in Lot 6 on the east side of N. Old Woodward (across from Salvatore Scallopini Restaurant and Booth Park) and the hours of operation are every Sunday May 7 – October 28, 2018 from 9:00am – 2:00 pm.
