I’ve always been a huge fan of Molly Ringwald! I loved her in The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink and of course 16 Candles! I melted when Jake Ryan pulled up to the church where Samantha’s sister was getting married and then she and Jake lean over a huge birthday cake and kiss. If I ever had a boy…his name was going to be Jake Ryan.
The Brat Pack returns to the big screen for TWO nights only with “The Breakfast Club 30th Anniversary,” presented by Fathom Events, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment and BY Experience. Longtime fans and newcomers alike will be able to gather their friends and head to the cinema for a true fan tribute honoring one of John Hughes’ most memorable and recognizable films.
The movie takes place at a high school detention hall where 5 students from different stereotypes, meet in detention, where they pour their hearts out to each other, and discover how they have a lot more in common than they thought.
This 30th anniversary release is the first nationwide big screen event of the newly restored version and will be introduced by a bonus featurette that takes a look back at the film that defined a genre and a generation. In addition, fans will hear personal insights from cast members Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, Anthony Michael Hall and John Kapelos as well as contributions from filmmakers Diablo Cody, Amy Heckerling and Michael Lehman.
