This is one of the most hectic times of the year for most people, especially Moms! Parties, school programs, shopping, decorating, cooking and socializing make for a fun but busy schedule.
It’s always a good idea to try to keep up with your healthy habits during the holiday season. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan offers two great resources to do just that. Their A Healthier Michigan website is full of great ideas for healthy recipes, fitness and health tips. My current favorite post was “6 Foods That Combat Seasonal Affective Disorder” – who knew!
In addition to the A Healthier Michigan website they also offer ton’s of discounts on products, services and memberships all related to health and fitness for Blue Cross Blue Shield Members. You can get all the details on this program by visiting the Healthy Blue Xtras website. I feel lucky to be a BCBS member. As a Blues member you have access to over $7,000 in exclusive discounts and savings. For instance you can save on Metro Park Passes, purchases made at Nino Salvaggio, Door to Door Organic and many more! This website is really easy to navigate with the offers separated into product/service categories and regions of the State.
Many of these offers would make great gifts, which brings me to the great gift guide that Blue Cross Blue Sheild of Michigan has put together – Busy Mom Gift Guide. Who could use a little help every now and then figuring out what to purchase for that special person on your list? I always have a few people on my list that I draw a blank on. The Busy Mom Gift Guide is Michigan inspired and is full of great suggestions that you may not have thought of. Take a minute and look through the slide show below for some great ideas. I wouldn’t mind finding the Up North Breakfast Box from American Spoon under the tree!
Thanks to the generosity of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan we are able to spread some holiday cheer by offering a Meijer Gift Card Giveaway. Three lucky Detroit Mommy readers will win a $25 Meijer Gift Card! Please use the Rafflecopter entry form below to enter the contest. You must be a US resident and at least 18 years old to enter. After having our last daughter and watching documentaries on food I decided to REALLY read all food labels and look closely at what we are putting into our bodies. In moderation my mother always told me. With 4 children I can’t always purchase organic, but I do my best to insure quality meals with proteins, and fresh fruits and vegetables. I want my kids to make good choices in their future.
