The new SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium located inside Great Lakes Crossing Mall in Auburn Hills started filling the tanks today. They had assistance from some little helpers.
We donned our hard hats and went on a tour of the construction site and the kids got to help out by tossing in the first few buckets of waters. The SEA LIFE Aquarium will not be rows and rows of fish tanks.
The Aquarium is designed to be very interactive with creative marine displays including a touch-pool, ocean tunnel, a shipwreck display and a Giant Pacific Octopus – just to name a few. There will also be a section dedicated to native species. With more than 5,000 creatures and 20 displays this place is going to be fabulous!
SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium is currently looking for twelve children between the ages of 8-12 to become Environmental Panelists – this comes with some great perks. You can find all the details on the SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium Facebook Page.
This may be just what we need to get through the upcoming Michigan Winter. Spring 2015 can’t come soon enough!
