I remember when online sample sales sites were just getting started and there were only a few – ideeli, Rue La La, Gilt, and Hautelook – and they were really good. They truly brought the sample sale online. Fast forward a couple of years and there are members-only shopping sites everywhere! To be honest, I get sample sale fatigue. So many emails, so many sales. Where do I even start? Most days it’s with the “delete” button. 😉
Don’t get me wrong, sample sale sites are great, it’s just knowing which ones to shop. I’ve taken one for the team and done the research (hundreds of hours of shopping!) and have some new favorites that I want to tell you about. Check them out below – Happy shopping, and saving!

Why I Like It: Vintage designer handbags.

PLUS… Invite your friends and family to join and they’ll get a $100 credit towards their first purchase of $250 or more when they sign up. You’ll also get a $100 credit to your account after they’ve received their orders. Sa-weet.
What: The world’s first video shopping destination. Their clever curators show and sell chic finds in fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and home.
Why I Like It: Video. Clothing, cosmetics, home goods – they are all better sold via video. If you’ve ever bought something online based on how it looked in a photo and then hated it once it arrived (who hasn’t?), Joyus is for you. Their curators do an amazing job of showcasing their products via video, all in just a couple of minutes. You get a much better idea of the item you’re considering buying through their well-edited videos.
Perks: Besides getting an up close & personal look at each product and how-to tips, you’ll also get an instant $10 credit added to your account when you join via this link. Invite your friends and you’ll both earn $10 when they join.
What: Private sales with a fresh selection of new home décor and furnishings occur each week and are curated by a professional in-house sourcing team and by well-known celebrity designers known as LuxeLife Trendsetters.
Why I Like It: Group Buys and Daily Deals. With their Daily Deal every day they feature a fresh luxe pick with a great discount. This is a cool feature – I love deals that have a short window of opportunity. Strike while the iron is hot. Their Group Buys is another money saver – each week they offer a selection of items in the Group Buys program and when members purchase the item the price drops. The more members that buy, the lower the price goes and everyone ends up paying the lowest price at the end of the sale.
Perks: Join now and invite friends, when they join earn $10 on their first purchase. Not the biggest perk out there, but I really think their Daily Deal is one to watch, they also offer a Price Match Guarantee. And Nikki Hilton is one of their trendsetters.
What: Launched by two UPenn students, Kembrel is a private shopping community for fashion conscious urban dwellers. By partnering with the hottest lifestyle brands, they are able to offer 40-75% discounts off retail prices to their members in their popup boutiques in your city and online in curated collections and limited-time outlet sales that last for just 7 days.
Why I Like It: It was started by two UPenn students. That’s pretty cool. Besides their awesome pop-ups, great selection of apparel for guys & gals, they also partner with National brands for additional discounts at online retailers like Threadless, Sprayground, Dormify, and CampusFood – yes, they are heavy on the collegiate set!
Perks: If you’re a BMOC you’ll want to join and pick up their VIP Card ($20 annually) which will save you an additional 20% off all purchases and get you Free Shipping. I just added a pair of Ray-Bans to my cart and the card paid for itself immediately. In addition to VIP savings they also offer refer-a-friend rewards: Get $20 when 10 friends join, get $20 more when 25 friends have joined, and when 50 friends have joined you’ll get $40 more. Don’t forget the bonus $10 credit when a friend makes their first purchase. Niiice.
