Last year, I participated in a blogger outreach program called A Day Made Better which is a program by Office Max to erase teacher funded classrooms. Detroit Mommies collected donations from friends and local businesses General Motors, Nannies4Hire.com, Panera and Sound Music Instruction and took them to Jason Dosch in the Pontiac school district because he goes out of his way for his students. It felt great to help the teacher so that he had supplies to aid in the education of his students.
This year, on Tuesday (10/5) I will be at West Utica Elementary School participating in the A Day Made Better Event where one teacher will be surprised in his/her classroom with an award and $1000 in school supplies on behalf of “A Day Made Better.”
These events will be happening simultaneously at 1000 schools across the country on October 5 where 1000 teachers will receive a total of $1,000,000 in school supplies from OfficeMax on behalf of the cause.
