October is Fire Prevention month and there are a few fun events going on in Rochester to help celebrate awareness.
On October 5, 2009 from 9:15 a.m.-10:15 a.m. and from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. bring your preschool aged child (2 1/2-5 with parent) to the Rochester Hills Fire Station (1111 Horizon Court) to learn about fire safety, see a video, check out the fire trucks and to meet Sparky the fire dog. FREE event. Pre-registration is required. Call 248-656-8308
On October 9, 2009 from 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. there will be a display of fire trucks, ambulances, rescue vehicles, Sparky the fire safety dog and a special appearance by the U of M Survival Flight Helicopter at 7:30 p.m. This event will take place in the Lowes parking lot off Rochester Rd. (3277 Rochester Rd.)
On October 11, 2009 from 12:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. bring the entire family to meet the firefighters, tour the stations, see the trucks and enjoy hot dogs, cider and donuts. The following stations are participating:
- Station 1- 1111 Horizon Ct. (Livernois, north of Hamlin)
- Station 2- 1251 E. Auburn (Auburn Rd, east of John R)
- Station 3- 2137 W. Auburn (Auburn Rd, east of Adams)
- Station 4- 2723 Walton (Walton Blvd, east of Adams)
- Station 5- 251 E. Tienken (Tienken, east of Rochester)
