This Sunday, September 13 is Grandparents Day. Grandparents Day can be traced back to 1978 and its sole purpose is in to honor senior citizens for their important contributions.
Congress passed legislation proclaiming the first Sunday after Labor Day as National Grandparents Day and then-President Jimmy Carter signed the proclamation.
So, if you have grandparents honor them this Sunday by doing something special and if you do not have a grandparent, find an elderly neighbor or friend and show them how important they are by doing something special for them. You can bake a batch of cookies, make a card, mow their lawn, make them a special meal… you don’t have to spend a lot of money to make someone feel special! Have fun by being creative!
