We love to do things together as a family, but lately my husbands job has been highly demanding and both time and extra adventure funds have been limited, so we usually spend our Sundays at the park or on a stroll through downtown Rochester.
I was so excited when I was asked if I’d like to have tickets to take the entire family to see a WNBA game because #1 I have never been to a professional basketball game, let alone a women’s’ basketball game and #2 what a fun family activity!
You see, we try to expose our daughters to as many diverse activities as we can…they’ve been to Hawaii, New York, Florida, Mexico, Canada and most of the states between California and Michigan. Since they are still very young, they may or may not remember their travels thus far, but I know that the travels we’ve experienced as a family is impacting them in some way…at least I want to believe they are:)
So, back to the game…
We arrived a little late to The Palace of Auburn Hills due to my husband’s demanding job, grabbed our tickets (BTW amazing court side seats) and took our seats. I couldn’t believe how close we were! I could practically stick my hand out and high five the players if I was so inclined, but that would probably not go over so well with security:)
The game was amazing! I seriously thought (going into this) that I might be bored because I’m use to sitting through baseball games where I’m found having amazing conversations and missing half of the game.
That wasn’t the case for the WNBA game at all. I was on the edge of my seat and the game seemed to fly by. Also, it was loud because the fans were so into the game…it was great!
Parents…great event to take your kids! They can scream, yell and jump around and no one is bothered. Loved it!
I looked at how much it would cost a family of four to attend a game including parking, the cheapest seats and a large soda and popcorn to enjoy during the game and it came out to be about $50…not bad for a fun filled evening with the family!
