Roots rocker, rockabilly performer and actor Chris Isaak will perform at Meadow Brook Music Festival on Sunday, July 19 at 8 p.m.
In the course of Chris Isaak’s career, he has released 10 extraordinary albums, 12 hit singles, been nominated for two Grammy awards, acted in several motion pictures and starred in his own critically acclaimed TV series. His legendary shows with his longtime band Silvertone have entertained tens of thousands of people for more than two decades. Some of Isaak’s hit singles include “Wicked Games,” “Can’t Do A Thing (To Stop Me),” “Somebody’s Crying” and “Baby Did A Bad Bad Thing.” Isaak released his first greatest hits collection, titled Best of Chris Isaak, in 2006. The release includes an accompanying DVD and features 18 video clips showcasing his two-decade career. The album displays his many different musical personas: the rockabilly rebel, brokenhearted crooner and the breezy acoustic storyteller. It also includes two brand new songs “King Without A Castle” and “Let’s Have A Party” as well as two covers: Cheap Trick’s “I Want You To Want Me” and Roy Orbison’s “Only The Lonely.” Other albums include his debut Silvertone (1985), Chris Isaak (1986), Heart Shaped World (1989), San Francisco Days (1993), Forever Blue (1995), Baja Sessions (1996), Speak of the Devil (1998), Always Got Tonight (2002) and two Christmas albums Chris Isaak Christmas (2004) and Christmas (2007). This year he released Mr. Lucky, his first album in seven years. It reached number 29 on the Billboard Top Selling Albums chart. The album features an alternate cover and two bonus tracks, “I Got It Bad” and “Dream Deferred.” Isaak can also be seen on the big screen as he plays the role of Les Prince in the 2009 American ensemble film, The Informers, which premiered in theatres on April 24.
