This Memorial Day weekend Rochester Municipal Park will be hosting the 32nd Annual Rochester Area Heritage Festival. This event is for the entire family bringing the history of Rochester to life with a pancake breakfast, Civil War battle re-enactments, live music, a craft show and sale, pony rides, antique cars, local food vendors and much more.
The event will take place May 23 and 24, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Rochester Municipal Park.
Children’s activities include making a doll out of corncob, navigating an obstacle course in a gunny sack, taking photos at the Dress Up Log Cabin, rutabaga bowling, a petting farm, sawing logs and other activities of the pioneer days.
There will also be Civil War battles reenacted and artisans demonstrating skills from the past.
