Run Wild at the Detroit Zoo to Support the Detroit Zoological Society
Join local runners and joggers at this year’s Run Wild for the Detroit Zoo event to be held September 8, 2019. The outdoor event will take place at the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak and includes 5K and 10K runs, the Too Wild! 5K+10K combo, plus a non-competitive Fun Walk.
Runners in the 5K and 10K events will begin at the Zoo’s 10 Mile Road entrance and wind through the scenic streets of Huntington Woods and cross the finish line inside the Zoo among our favorite zoo animals. The 5K will begin at 8:00 a.m., the Fun Walk will begin at 8:45 a.m. and the 10K will begin at 10:00 a.m.
Non-competitive walkers will follow an event path past award-winning animal habitats throughout the Zoo grounds.
The Post-Race Party, sponsored by Kroger, will include food, beverages, entertainment, children’s activities, and our favorite Detroit Zoo animals.
