Who doesn’t love a pretty and yummy cake pop? Chocolate cake pops are fun to make and perfect for showers, birthdays, anniversaries and other celebrations where desserts are needed! Have you ever made them before? Here’s a very easy recipe for you to try the next time you throw a fun gathering or attend a party and need to bring something fun to pass around.

Easy to Make Chocolate Cake Pops

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup ready to use chocolate decorator frosting
  • 2 bags of chocolate Candy Melts candy
  • 1 box 18 oz of your favorite chocolate cake mix
  • 1 box instant pudding
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/3 cup of vegetable oil

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray your 13 x 9 x 2 in. sheet pan with an organic non-stick pan spray. Next, combine cake mix, pudding mix, water, eggs, and oil in a large bowl and beat at medium speed with electric mixer for 2 minutes. Pour batter into pan. Once oven is ready, bake 35-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Once ready, cool in pan 10 minutes; remove cake from pan to cooling grid.  Once cake is cooled completely, divide cake in half; freeze one half for another time.

Next, in large bowl, crumble cake with hands to create crumbs with no large chunks remaining. Add icing then mix with fingers until well mixed. Gently form mixture into cake balls. Chill in refrigerator a minimum of 2 hours. Melt Candy Melts according to package directions. Dip sticks into melted Candy Melts and then quickly insert into cake balls. Let set. Wait until candy is completely firm before throughly dipping the pops into the melted Candy Melts. While the candy is still wet and warm, gently roll your cake pop in your favorite sprinkles or chopped nuts.

Note: *1 tablespoon sized cake ball pop, each 1-1/4 in diameter makes 48 total.

Serve.
