Playworks Michigan has just unveiled an online resource for parents and kids who are looking to stay active while social distancing at home.
For more than 20 years, Playworks has been leading the way for safe and healthy play at elementary schools every day and now they’re bringing the fun to your home to keep the kids happy and mentally healthy during COVID-19.
#PlayAtHome with Playworks is providing free video tutorials of games that follow CDC guidelines and can be played at home with little to no equipment. Families can also download a printable Play at Home Playbook that features these games. They are also hosting 15-20-minute Facebook Live sessions every day at Noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Playworks is noted in the Aspen Institute’s “State of Play” as an exemplary strategy/organization for their work in bringing the power of play and sports to elementary schools in Detroit, Dearborn, Ferndale, Novi, Wayne-Westland and throughout the state. Last year, Playworks reached 77,916 kids in Michigan and they hope to reach even more to help our children remain happy during this very stressful time.
