Winter is here so bring on the fun! At least, that’s what the kids are saying! If you’re in Michigan, then you already know we have a ton of fun winter activities to choose from during the winter months. Sledding is one we all enjoy. Here is a list of our favorite sledding hot spots in Michigan.
Shiawassee Park
The Shiawassee Park sledding hill in Farmington is the perfect hill to take your kids to if you live near Farmington, Farmington Hills, Novi, or Plymouth. Shiawassee offers a space with hay bales for sledders to walk up the hill safely and the hill is full of fun! Shiawassee Park is located at 32340 Shiawassee Road, Farmington, Michigan.
Lincoln Hills Golf Course
You wouldn’t expect to find a sledding hill in a golf course, but you can at Lincoln Hills Golf Course. Located just outside the clubhouse, the sledding hill is open to kids of all ages. The clubhouse offers a public bathroom and hot chocolate and snacks available for purchase. Hours for Lincoln Hills Golf Course sledding hill are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This hill also has a wooden staircase for sledders to walk safely up the hill. Stoney Creek Metro Park
Stony Creek Metropark is home to a variety of snow sports including sledding, snowboarding and snowshoeing A $5 daily permit gets you in the park for the day, and $25 buys you an annual permit providing year-round entry. There are a few good hills within Stoney. Drive around and hit all of them to make a day out of it. You won’t be disappointed. Timberlee Hills
Timberlee Hills claims the title of the biggest sledding hill in Michigan. Bet you didn’t know that! There are no set lanes, no height restrictions, and a simple tow system to help you back up the hill safely. Hot food and hot chocolate are available at the café for break time! Timberlee Hills is located at 10484 S. Timberlee Hills Drive, Traverse City, Michigan.
Snow Snake
Snow Snake is a hidden gem in mid-Michigan many people don’t know about. The snow tubing hill is a popular attraction next to the great ski runs. They also have a bar and grill on-site. Snow Snake is located at 3407 E. Mannsiding Rd., Harrison, Michigan.
Shanty Creek
Shanty Creek’s Alpine Tubing offers eight whopping snow tubing lanes, plus a tow to make repeat riding safe and easy. Tickets can be purchased in one or two hour increments or you can buy a tubing season pass. When you’re done sledding, they even offer dogsled rides! Beverly Park
The Village of Beverly Hills has one of the best sledding hills in Metro Detroit at Beverly Park. Beverly Park is a 34-acre park that offers a long list of family-fun activities. Plan on bringing your ice skates with your sleds because ice skating is available too! The Village of Beverly Hills is located at 18801 Beverly Rd., Beverly Hills, Michigan.
Kensington Metropark
This fun park is impressive no matter the season, but in the winter, it’s super fun! Regarding sledding, there’s something for every sledder of any level and for all ages. If you have a daring one in the family, snowboarding is available too! Kensington is located at 4570 Huron River Parkway, Milford, Michigan.
