Impossible Burger Arrives in Metro Detroit
I recently had the pleasure of being invited to the Impossible Burger exclusive launch party with celebrity Chef Michael Symon, owner of B Spot, and co-host of ABC’s The Chew and Food Network. The event was held at the Garden Bowl inside the Majestic Theatre in Detroit. I was very excited about the event when I learned that the Impossible Burger is PLANT BASED! Oh and it’s taking place on a Friday night, in my favorite city? Burgers, Beer and Bowling you say? Triple Win.
The event had me wowed upon arrival with the excitement levels of the launch staff, the music, and especially the Impossible Burger FLAIR! Stickers, signage, banners, an Impossible Burger photo booth were delighting my creative branding soul. The crowd was easy-going, family friendly and everyone, literally everyone was smiling. Micheal Symon was happily mingling. What a joy to see people who love what they do.
Check out the Impossible Foods site, I love the colors and details they’ve used to tell their story. Impossible Foods is on a mission to transform the global food system to make the foods we love without compromise. The Impossible Burger is made of wheat protein, potato protein, leghemoglobin (heme from plants), xanthan, konjac plant and coconut oil for fat. Representatives say it’s not meant to be a “health food,” though. The nutritional content is similar to a beef patty, but it is cholesterol-free. The plant-based burger is produced without hormones, antibiotics or artificial flavors. Cool eh? So the hubby and I grabbed a chair, and were ready to give the Impossible Burger a try!
Ok, ok, how was it? YUM. The Impossible Burger arrived “Thin Lizzy” style, with griddled onions, mayo, dill pickles and cheddar cheese, along with some killer french fries. I liked that the texture was different from the flatter, more pressed veggie based burgers I’ve had in the past. It really felt,,tasted and smelled like the real deal hamburger. I was impressed! As someone who’s continually on a hunt to find, replicate and get everyone to ENJOY healthier foods, I can imagine the amount of hard work Michael and the Impossible Foods team has completed to make this happen!
Did you know that B Spot Burgers has two Metro Detroit Locations? The first is in Royal Oak, 310 S. Main to be exact. The second B Spot Burgers location is in Rochester Hills, 176 N. Adams. You can hop over, and grab yours for under $10!
