I recently had the privilege of attending a special event at Allure Medical Spa in Shelby Township and meeting the newest addition to the metro Detroit full-service surgical & medical practice, Mariana Atanasovski, M.D. A Michigan native and Summa Cum Laude graduate of Wayne State University, Atanasovski specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of common skin conditions, skin cancers, surgical procedures, pediatric and cosmetic dermatology. Her addition will expand Allure’s services to offer diagnosis and treatment of more serious skin issues, hereditary skin conditions and skin cancer, as well as cosmetic and anti-aging treatments and procedures.
“As a specialty, Dermatology is the study of the skin that can be a fascinating clue to inner workings of the human body,” say Antanasovski. “I look forward to bringing my passion for Dermatology on board at Allure Medical Spa.”
Dr. Atanasovski is certified by the American Board of Dermatology, and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, Dermatology Foundation, Michigan Dermatological Society, Michigan State Medical Society, and the Women’s Dermatology Society.
While I was there I toured the gorgeous facility and also received a VISIA Facial Assessment Report, a standard component of an initial consultation at Allure. The Visia Facial Assessment is really cool digital technology that captures an image of your skin to document the condition of it. This information helps the doctors to determine the best treatment options specific to your skin. The Visia system generates comprehensive reports which Allure will add to your record and use to help track your progress to a healthier, more youthful looking complexion.
To me, making an appointment at Allure simply to have the Visia Facial Assessment done is well worth it. In a matter of minutes you have a full-color document of your face evaluated in eight different categories: Spots, Wrinkles, Texture, Pores, UV Spots, Brown Spots, Red Areas, and Porphyrins (bacteria, ew!). As you can see, it’s a comprehensive (as well as a bit scary) report! The higher the percentage, the better your skin. So take my 98% on the Porphyrins – that means my skin only has 2% bacteria (fantastic, thank you Rodan + Fields!), but on the other end you can see I received a 38% on Red Areas and a 56% on Brown Spots! Frightening! And that’s why this is a fantastic tool used by the doctors at Allure. They can quickly analyze your skin and determine which products & treatments are right for your concerns. They can then track the progress and provide you with definitive proof of your skin’s improvements. This was very cool and a real eye-opener to everyone who had an assessment.
