Camp Bow Wow St. Clair Shores, the Premier Doggy Day and Overnight Camp franchise and an Inc 5000 company, is excited to announce its upcoming “Scout Says, ‘Dogs Get Nervous, Too'” local book reading in support of “Dog Bite Prevention Week” (May 18-24). This fun, yet educational tool, published by Camp Bow Wow, serves to teach children about how to properly interact with dogs to prevent dog bites. Each book reading will be followed by an educational seminar. All children and their families in attendance will receive takeaways, including a copy of the book, a magnetic photo frame and bookmark. According to the Center for Disease Control, nearly 4.5 million dog bites occur each year – 50% of which involve children. Approximately 1 in every 5 dog bites is serious enough to require medical attention. Whether it be your own, or a stranger’s, dogs are a part of our everyday lives and it is vital that individuals take proactive measures to help reduce risk. Camp Bow Wow believes that proper education begins at home and as such, is working hard to ensure that local families and pet owners are well informed. One thing that may not be mentioned in the seminar is legal action, this is more for the grown-ups and should be looked into in the event that this occurs. Researching possible legal ways on how to go about this is very important, the owner may be negligent and/or teaching their dog to attack, in this case contacting a Personal Injury Lawyer in Springfield, Illinois – Noll Law Office, or one closer to where the incident took place, is important and a good step to take. Date/Time: Wednesday, May 14, 4:00PM – 5:00PM Where: Grosse Pointe Ewald Library Branch 15175 E. Jefferson Grosse Pointe Park, MI 48230
