Festive Fall Activites For The Family

Recently, I had my wisdom teeth pulled, so I had to figure out a way to entertain my 5 year old daughter, in case I was in pain! Well, after suffering from a great amount of pain, caused by a dry socket, every day trips to the dentist, and being on strong medication that made me sleepy – I was thrilled I had this stuff in place. My daughter enjoys crafts, coloring, and completing art work – she always has so I am very lucky that I can create activities that entertain her and can be used as small gifts for family members and friends or decorations around our home!

Honestly, dollar bins at Target, WalMart, and Craft/ Dollar Stores are AWESOME! I have found kits for frames, door hangers, and velvet coloring decorations! Not only do we use them around our home, BUT we often gift them to others. I cannot tell you how appreciative they are. This is an excellent idea for the holidays too!

You can also utilize different items from nature, if you are looking for extremely inexpensive. Kelsey has created different pictures using leaves she finds outside. She also has created pictures and objects with pine cones, sticks, and acorns. Hanging them around your home or someone else’s can make the most creative and festive fall decorations.

My 5 year old also loves coloring, painting, and drawing. Crayola sells markers that are used to draw on the windows. This is a really cute idea for children, especially while Mommy or Daddy is getting dinner prepared. On those warmer fall days, children can go outside and paint some pumpkins, still figuring out a way to carve them without harming their masterpiece. I have learned Kroger and WalMart have fantastic deals on all sized pumpkins.

Holidays are great ways to spend time with the family cooking, wrapping, shopping, and creating all types of different decorations in your home. A child’s imagination is incredible, and others will be impressed!
