If you like hunting for treasures you should check out the Royal Oak Flea Market. It’s open every Sunday from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The market is located at316 West Eleven Mile Road(two blocks east ofMain Street). There is also a small restaurant inside the building.
My husband stops by on a regular basis and usually brings something home from one of the 100+ vendors. Some of his finds include picture frames, old furniture and baskets. The market has gotten so big it has spilled out of the building on both sides with outdoor vendors. There is a pretty good assortment of antiques and collectibles to be found, as well as some baked goods.
My son and I go along with him every now and then and always have a good time. I love walking around and just looking at the unique assortment of things up for sale, like the costume jewelry and old dishes. My son loves the vintage toys and large sea shells. Plus the people are always so friendly.
I know a lot of people that think the old stuff is made better anyway. This is recycling at its best!
