Ziploc recently announced that the Ziploc brand bags are now recyclable. Its simple, all you do is place clean and dry Ziploc bags in the bins at your local grocery store where plastic shopping bags are accepted. The Meijer stores in my area have these bins located near the front of the store.
If you want to take it one step further check out their website: www.recyclebank.com/ziploc to find information on how to set up an account so that you can earn RecycleBankPoints that can be used for discounts, gift cards and more.
You will receive points for setting up your account, and then you earn points each time you enter a RecycleBank Points code from specially marked packages of Ziploc bags. There is also a cute educational video on the website that explains the recycling process for plastic bags and why they can’t be recycled at curbside. This is a great way to make a difference in reducing landfill waste – plus it’s so easy.
In additional to this admirable recycling program, Ziploc has also come out with a new line of attractive glass containers called VersaGlass. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes and are made of tempered glass with plastic lids. For the record the lids are not formulated with BPA. These containers are oven safe, microwave safe, freezer safe and dishwasher safe. I can definitely use these super handy containers in my kitchen.
I received a supply of Ziploc bags and a set of VersaGlass containers for use in this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
