What do you feel about the pronouns being used in place of the names of the characters?
I think they are rather funny. It doesn’t take away from the story for me at all. I don’t mind reading it like that.
I just have to wonder if her mom and brother’s names are actually their real names. And why not give them pronouns for names too? Would the name of her family members draw out her real identity? Or is it so that we can see ourselves as Girl and assign one of our previous bosses to the role of her boss? Is it to take out the personal qualities? If that is the case, the story isn’t vague enough.
Really, though, I don’t care. I just see her as girl. I like the story so far. It’s a nice way to end my day when there isn’t enough mind-numbing shows on the TV.
