I’m HUGE on recycling. Whatever can be recycled I recycle. There is some confusion about what can and cannot be recycled. Here are some guidelines to help you along the way:
What CAN be put into your recycle bins:
- Plastics- containers with codes 1-7
- Grocery bags
- Clear and colored glass
- Metal
- Paper, phone books, magazines and brown paper bags
- Cardboard- cut into 2’x2′ pieces and tied in bundles
- Paper board and box board- cereal boxes, tissue, shoe boxes
- Household batteries placed in a clear plastic bag and placed on top of your recycling container
Items that Can NOT be recycled:
- Paper milk or juice cartons
- Styrofoam or packing materials
- Garbage
- Propane tanks
- Paint cans
- Medical waste
- Flammable liquids
- Household cleaners
- Dry or liquid chemicals
- Wood items
