We have a time share with Marriott and this year we decided to head to Singer Island, Florida to the Oceana Palms! So far we have used our time share in Hawaii and in Florida.
We decided to take one last vacation before school started, but we didn’t want to go too far and have to spend a lot on plane tickets for the entire family, so we decided to drive to Florida!
We stayed at the Marriott Vacation Club resort Oceana Palms on Singer Island… best vacation EVER!
We drove.
We took two days to drive making our mid-point stop in Atlanta, Georgia. It took us about 12-14 hours our first day because of some car sick issues my 4 year old had. By Day 2 we had purchased chewable Dramamine and it was smooth sailing from there. We arrived on Singer Island on Day 2 at about 6:30 pm and we were all pooped and ready for food and bed! Then next morning my husband and I snuck out while the kids and my MIL were sleeping and went to the grocery store to stock the pantry and refrigerator with food for the week. We did bring a bunch of snacks, sodas and other food items since we drove and could. It is so convenient to have a full kitchen right there in the suite. Especially when traveling with kids. It’s also nice having a washer and dryer… we came back with suitcases full of clean clothes that were ready to be put away.
The vacation was wonderful!
The Marriott Oceana Palms is located right on the beach, so we could take the girls down to the pool and then to the beach and back again if we wanted to. My husband and I would wake up early and walk on the beach, picking up unique shells along the way.
We never left the resort!
Seriously! The only time we left was to get groceries and that was on the first day there. After that we didn’t need to leave. We either made food or ate at the Reflections Bar and Grill. One night we ordered a chicken dinner that came with mashed potatoes and corn. It was o.k. Not my favorite meal of the week, but it did the job of filling our bellies!
The girls also enjoyed the kids club in the resort called Maze. One day they played sweet tooth bingo and made tie dyed pillow cases. They also played guitar hero and put a few puzzles together.
There was also a playground on the resort property. There was never a dull moment!
