Oakland County Parks and Recreation invites women ages 18 and older to experience nature and build relationships at the Women’s 24-Hour Experience, Sept. 18 – 19 at Addison Oaks County Park.
“Women can spend the weekend with friends; meet new people; learn outdoor skills; and participate in fun activities,” Recreation Program Supervisor Derenda Howard said. “This is always a fun weekend for women to get together and play outdoors.”
Women are immersed in nature while participating in recreation and teambuilding activities, including: mountain biking, geocaching and paddling. Women also partake in nature exploration and nighttime activities, including: camping 101, campfire gourmet, stargazing, nighttime safari, rhythm circle, fireside storytelling and campfire party.
Cost is $75/person and includes all fees, equipment, instruction and food.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own tent, sleeping bag, pillow and a food item to add to the community soup pot for dinner.
The experience begins on Saturday at 10 a.m. and concludes on Sunday at 10 a.m.
