I was seriously blown away by Baypoint Beach at Stony Creek Metropark! My expectations, exceeded.
We have lived in Metro Detroit for 2 years now and we finally ventured to a metropark last week. I had only heard great things about Stony Creek metropark when asking around for the best beach to take the kids. I was told that Baypoint Beach was clean, had bathrooms, lifeguards, concession and the kids could take floaty devices in the water. What I wasn’t told was there are showers and a changing area, the concession area is covered and has tables to eat at, all the way up to the sand is soft, green grass and trees for shade and it is SO clean!
We had a fabulous day at Baypoint Beach at Stony Creek metropark! We took buckets and shovels, floats, beach towels, snacks and drinks, sunscreen and the kids had a blast! We even saw that you could fish in the area and I could tell that my husband was wishing he’d bought his fishing gear along with us! We spoke to one fisherman and he did mention that if you want to fish in this area, it might be wise to bring lip gripping tools along too because some of the perch in the waters have pretty sharp teeth, but other than that, it’s a great spot to fish in! Especially when the sun is beating down.
One thing no one told me was that the kids would have so much fun that they wouldn’t want to leave. Oh well, I guess we are going to have to go back very soon!
