I had the pleasure of reviewing a fun game called Mastermind for Kids.
The original Mastermind boardgame was a favorite of mine growing up. I distinctly remember the colored pegs and trying to guess your opponents secret code. This new version for kids has colorful jungle animals that you use in place of the pegs. The secret code is blocked from your view with a rocky cave.
At first my 5 year old son had some issues with knocking over the animals, as they are not actual pegs like the old version. I soon realized this was a fine motor skill issue and after looking at the directions, it clearly indicates for ages 6 and up.
My 8 year old daughter has no problems at all with setting the animals in place and guessing the code. My 5 year old actually loves this game, as he is getting better and better at deciphering the code by the clues. He is even getting better at not knocking over the jungle animals, so this is a great practice to tune his fine motor skills. This game has quickly become a family favorite, as we have played it almost every night after dinner. It is small and compact, making it easy to store and put away.
Mastermind for Kids has fun, interactive and educational components that make learning fun!
There are Mastermind game versions great for the entire family.
