Springfield Oaks Golf Course in Davisburg, one of five Oakland County Parks golf courses, is opening Wednesday, March 24.
“With Springfield Oaks having so many beautiful areas full of trees, it’s taken a few days longer for the course to dry out from the last remaining snow. But it’s worth the 10-minute drive from I-75 to get the ‘up north’ feeling right here in Oakland County,” Darlene Rowley, supervisor golf revenue and operations, said.
Springfield Oaks Golf Course is located at 12450 Andersonville Road. The 18-hole course received Special Designation as “One of the Best Places to Play” by Golf Digest — value for the money, standard of service, condition of the course and pace of play.
Early bird and cash only rates are $5 per person for 9 holes or $10 per person for 18 holes. These rates will be offered through March 26 at all courses except Lyon Oaks where the early bird/cash only rate is $29 for 18 holes and a cart. Lyon Oaks, with a state-of-the-art practice facility with target greens and sand traps, has been rated 4.5 stars by Golf Digest.
Spring rates at all five courses, available at DestinationOakland.com, go into effect March 26.
The Oakland County Parks golf courses include: Glen Oaks at 30500 Thirteen Mile Road in Farmington Hills; Lyon Oaks at 52251 Pontiac Trail in Wixom; Red Oaks Golf Course at 29600 John R in Madison Heights; Springfield Oaks Golf Course at 12450 Andersonville Road, Davisburg; and White Lake Oaks at 991 Williams Lake Road in White Lake.
All five courses are certified by the Michigan Turfgrass Environmental Stewardship Program. MTESP certification requires the park to exceed requirements of environmental laws, protect water resources and enhance the maintenance of turfgrass and open spaces.
