Want to do something super fun on September 11 from 3-6?
Go to Bonaventure Skating Center, which is located on 24505 Halsted.
Why, you ask?
Because the very well loved and highly acclaimed actress, Drew Barrymore, will appear with members of the Detroit Derby Girls, a local roller derby league. They happened to have starred in Barrymore’s directorial debut film called “Whip It”, which was filmed here in Michigan! It’s about a small town girl who joins a roller derby.
The movie also stars Ellen Page, Jimmy Fallon, Zoe Bell, Kristen Wiig and Juliette Lewis and opens in theaters on October 2nd.
The doors will open at 3pm and the first 955 people in line will be allowed in. The doors will be shut at 3:30 and admittance is free.
A red-carpet arrival is scheduled for 3:30pm.
A roller-rink introduction is planned to begin at 4pm.
This sounds like great fun and if you’re lucky enough to be one of the 955 people who get in, we’d love to hear from you about your experience!
