Ok, I’ll say it out loud. I love bargains. I mean, I really love bargains. One of my favorite bargain stops is the Salvation Army.
My favorite Salvation Army store is located on the corner of Auburn and John R roads. It’s big. In fact, at one time is the largest Salvation Army store in the country. Its hours are 9am-9 pm Monday through Thursday, and 9 am-10 pm. Friday and Saturday. Its street address is 823 E. Auburn Road, Rochester Hills, and its phone number is (248) 852-3413. In 2007 and 2008, this store has been listed in the top five of Best Vintage and Resale Stores of Detroit Area by WDIV-TV.
But if the prices aren’t low enough, consider these extra bargains. There’s the color of the week. If the tag of the item you want has the same color as the color of the week, it’s half off. On Friday and Saturday, clothing with tags that are the color are the week are five for $5. Additionally, the store has additional sales. Sometimes the sales are for the whole day, sometimes they’re until noon. Occasionally, they run their version of the old blue light special, and have limited time sales.
The store boasts a BIG children’s department. Often disposible diapers (really cheap)from Wal-Mart are being sold, along with toys in packages that have never been opened, kids’ furniture, and of course clothes.
The store also boasts craft materials and kits that have often never been opened, and they’re perfect for fun activities for the kids.
