The Day of Caring is held to raise awareness to the health and human service needs in Livingston County, and offers individuals a chance to get involved in the community while making a difference in the lives of others.
The committee is looking for numerous volunteers. Due to projects both big and small, highly motivated adults and high-school age youth are encouraged to volunteer. This is a great way for friends to work together, for companies to build team spirit, and for young and old alike to make a difference in the community. The Day of Caring also provides an excellent opportunity for people who are currently unemployed to help build their resume.
Projects will take place in both the morning and afternoon, providing volunteers flexibility in their schedules. A picnic lunch at the Howell City Park is also included. Some of the projects that will be run, but are not limited to, include:
- sprucing up of area parks and recreational facilities
- painting, fall clean up or minor general repairs at senior citizens homes
- food and personal care drives
