The Village of Rochester Hills’ new toy store, Brilliant Sky Toys & Books is partnering with local author Julianna Blankenship to sell her first children’s book, Sally Lumpkin’s Party. The story is about the fun and anticipation of six good friends attending a birthday party, and is based on the author’s college friends. “Brilliant Sky is one of my favorite stores at the Village,” Blankenship said. “I always find fun toys for my nieces there, so partnering with them to sell Sally Lumpkin’s Party was a natural choice for me.”
The official book launch is slated to kick off the Books, Buddies & Blankets season in the Village’s Festival Park on June 17th at 11:00am. Julianna will read her published book and then children are invited to attend “Sally Lumpkin’s Party,” where families can dance, sing, and of course, eat cake! Books will be available for sale that day.
