I’m sure you’ve heard of Cafe Moms, but if you haven’t, Cafemom – A place for moms to make new friends, have fun and express themselves.
Having 3 children of my own under the age of 6 leaves little time for me to get a chance to get out of the house to meet other moms. We do go to the park a lot and I sometimes meet other moms there or at school, I’ve gotten to know a few moms while waiting for the kids to get out, but it really doesn’t go beyond that. Most of my best friends have come from online forums and Twitter and it makes perfect sense!
How many times have you tried to have a phone conversation with a friend only to be interrupted by little voices that want to watch a different show, are hungry or need to go potty? This happens to me every time I try to have a nice adult conversation on the phone. I try to walk around the house while on the call to avoid the kids radar, but at some point, they’ve figured me out and I’ve got to get off.
I really think we are lucky to have all of the online resources that we do to share and connect with other moms. Just think about our poor mothers! They probably had a lot of lonely moments while raising us without having the technology that we have today!
