If you’d like something a bit different to do this Halloween, then take a walk through the woods with the city of Rochester Hills Environmental Center staff on Friday, Oct. 17 from 7-9 p.m. This is a great alternative to a haunted house because it is suited for all ages. The night walk starts at Rochester Hills City Hall and takes participants along the trails behind the Environmental Center where they will meet costumed nocturnal “animals” that call the area home. You may meet a high-flying bat, garbage picking racoon or a squirting skunk- pee yew! You will get to know them and was they tell you a little about themselves. The program ends with a bonfire; snacks and a hayride back to your car. No flashlights required. The tour begins at City Hall and will run every 20 minutes beginning at 7 p.m. with the last tour at 8:20 p.m. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Reservations must be made by calling the Environmental Center at (248) 656-4775.
